Romance Light is the lighter variation which I prefer for my skin tone. I don’t know that I would call it a must-have since you can get a similar effect with other highlighters on the market. I also wanted to see for myself if the Pillow Talk lipsticks are really worth it or not. If you’ve followed me for anytime, you know I’m normally a drugstore lipstick kinda gal. After years and years of hearing how amazing Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipsticks are, I finally did it. It’s quite a monochrome colour story here, with deeper and richer shades. So today I’m excited to share my honest Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Lipstick Review and lipstick swatches of both the original and medium pillow talk lipsticks on fair skin. Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Matte Revolution Lipstick ($34.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium pink with warmer undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had medium, buildable color coverage--up to mostly opaque--with a velvety, smooth, and thin consistency that clung a bit to lips, though not in an uncomfortable, drying kind of way. I just felt like it had a tendency to emphasize my lip lines a bit as some color pulled into them. Pillow Talk Dreams #4 is a deep brown with subtle, warm red undertones and a matte finish. It stayed on well for eight hours before fading visibly.
It’s more orangey, but still brown, and has a little color variation in the highlight and pop shades. I bought it last summer (when it was still LE) and I have hit pan on all the shadows! It’s my everyday life saviour, makes you look great, best version of yourself. I recommend applying a glitter glue under the pop shade- it prevents fallout throughout the day. I would 100% repurchase and now I can because It’s permanent!
I have the original Pillow Talk palette, so I don’t think I need this one, too. Well, I think she and Tom Ford both think it’s the magical component of their quads since they continue to include them in just about every quad, LOL. I wish they’d reformulate + innovate so that they were more naturally adhesive or maybe use finer sparkle and more base pigment.

As someone who normally purchases $10 or less drugstore lipsticks, the pillow talk price tag of $34 is definitely higher than what I’m used to paying. Also, if you’re the type of person who likes to wear the same lipstick shade everyday, then again this is one of the best lipsticks you can buy for versatility. I am warm undertoned; olive who looks grey in winter and dirty honey coloured in summer. I need true autumn lipstick colours and this isn't it.This is very drying and emphasises all my lines. I’d love to see your take on the CT quads Christine like you did for the ND palettes, using the massive library of shadow singles from like CP and SG.
The Pillow Talk Medium lipstick is a warm berry pink that almost leans terracotta for me. It comes in the Matte Revolution formula, which has a smooth matte finish with a slightly powdery feel. I find that these last a good 3-4 hours on me, and that’s even with drinking water constantly. Plus, I’ll break down all the details of the CT pillow talk lipsticks including formula, shade, packaging, ingredients, and how long it lasts on the lips. The texture and wear are great, as is the packaging.
It’s a semi-miss for me, mainly because the color is a bit too deep for my skin tone as a highlighter. On my skin it pulls very copper, very warm and a bit too dramatic. It would probably work better on someone with very tan to deep skin tone. I think the colors are stunning as an eyeshadow palette. While the full size Pillow Talk lipstick retails for $34, Charlotte Tilbury puts out several kits that contain a mini-size Pillow Talk combined with other products from her line.
Pillow Talk Dreams #3 is a medium copper with warm, rosy undertones and a sparkly finish. It had a slightly emollient feel, which made it feel firmer in the pan, but it wasn’t stiff to pick up or to blend out, though there was light fallout. It had mostly opaque, buildable color payoff that lasted well for eight hours before fading and had light fallout over time. Pillow Talk Dreams #1 is a light-medium, rosy copper with warm undertones and a bright, metallic sheen. The eyeshadow had a smooth, almost cream-like texture that was finely-milled and dense without being thick.
I bought this palette and I think that the colors are far more orange than they look in the pan. Reminds me very much of Naked Heat which I own and rarely iuse. Despite the great reviews, I will.pass bc they are not my colors. If you’re shopping multiple items I highly recommend you check Charlotte Tilbury’s website first to see if the colors you’re looking for are still in stock. It was really a nude on me, so I’m glad to see new shades that will work for anyone with a deeper skin tone. I swatched all the new products in store, and I loved the Pillow Talk Medium shade the best, plus I like the Matte Revolution formula slightly better than the K.I.S.S.I.N.G. formula. Nordstrom gets first access to the release beginning today (for this as well as the Pillow Talk blush, which I reviewed late last year).
